Hello Janeway Collective!

We are well on our way to the May 23, 2020 unveiling of Bloomington, IN’s monument to Captain Janeway, and want to bring you up to speed for our voyage ahead.

As our project grows, so too does its design. We are in the process of signing contracts with multiple artists. Our design has expanded, and now includes a bronze bust of Captain Janeway, atop a limestone base plated by water-cut stainless steel. Next to the statue will stand a large display table, with information about Star Trek, Janeway, Kate Mulgrew, and Bloomington native and Voyager producer Jeri Taylor.

We will be employing several different people on different parts of the monument, allowing us to find the best people for each unique aspect of the design. We have already told you a little about Sharon Fullingim on our website, in the coming days we will post information on all of the other talents that we are working with and will include it in our next newsletter.

John Hamilton, Mayor

The City of Bloomington expressed official support for the Janeway Collective last month. Check out the letter we received voicing the city’s full backing for our monument along the B-Line trail!

Now, some big news.

Starting October 22nd, we will be launching a major fundraising push through Patronicity, an organization focused on supporting local community arts projects. Patronicity offers a dollar-for-dollar matching funds program, and our $12,500 campaign goal will be doubled by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA).

In addition to helping turn our project into a reality, your donation comes with rewards! We’ve set up rewards levels for your contributions:

Already donated? You will still qualify for a gift, and if you wish to make a second contribution, we will add them together to make sure your generosity is properly documented and rewarded. As well, donations already received can be rolled over so that they will also qualify for matching funds.

Thank you so much for your interest and support of this project. This is a labor of love we hope all who visit Bloomington will get to enjoy for years to come, and it’s being made possible by you. We welcome any feedback and are available to answer any questions you may have. With your help we are bringing Captain Janeway home.

Thank you!

LLAP 🖖
